Abstract

As per SOLAS chapter 3.6 Regulation 10- Fire fighting , it is mandatory for any sea-going vessel to have a remotely operated controlled firefighting device which could be initiated remotely and to identify various specific firefighting points. Therefore, this paper introduces a basic cost saving method to ensure that the device is still kept in distance location so that easily notify ship crew when it works manually. These prototypes were replicated using the Protues programme and later introduced and evaluated in hardware model. The software then compiled into PIC C COMPILERS and programmed into microcontroller using a PIC 8-bit microcontroller programmer. There are still lack of initial warning system to monitor these firefighting devices, readily available at all time. This paper would also give the safeguards of firefighting to be required at all times to alert the crew in command by meant of signals. The critical  use of the system is to reduce or ease the role of crew members, even in the event of an unexpected emergency situation
