Author Guidelines

Step 1| PREPARE YOUR MANUSCRIPT

1. Download the AJMS - Manuscript Template  here.

2. The manuscript must be submitted in the following form:

      • Microsoft Word (.docx) and fully written in English.
      • Times New Roman font with single spaced throughout. Uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
      • All numbers less than ten should be spelled in full except in the materials and methods section in taxonomic papers. Italicize all scientific names. Use British spellings, metric measurement and 24 hour designation of time (e.g. 2300 hours).
      • All articles should be accompanied by an English abstract of not more than 200 words which clearly states the results and findings of the paper. 
      • Keywords should be mentioned after the abstract.           

3. Similarity Index (SI) must be less than 30% by Turnitin screening.

4. References should adhere to the APA referencing style and listed in alphabetical order at the end of the manuscript.

6. All figures and tables must have their own legends and headings, be self-explanatory, numbered in Arabic numerals in order of their appearance in the text.

Copyrights of accepted manuscripts will be transferred to the ALAM Journal of Maritime Studies. Authors must obtain permission to reproduce all materials of which the copyright is owned by others.

PROOF
Final proofs are to be submitted to authors for correction and approval before publishing takes place.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. Have you checked the journal’s aims and scope?
  2. Have you defined the scope of your article?
  3. Did you use multiple search engines to find sources to evaluate?
  4. Have you written a descriptive title and abstract using keywords?
  5. Did you follow the AJMS standard template?
  6. Have you presented a critical discussion?
  7. Have you included future suggestions for research in your conclusion?
  8. Have you asked a friend / peer to do a final spell and grammar check?
  9. Have you done plagiarism check? Must be less than 30% similarity index.
  10. The submission has not been previously published.
